Director / Dramatist Exchanges

Twice annually, DirectorsLabChicago teams up with the Dramatists Guild of America to host an informal event during which a select group of directors are invited to meet and mingle with a select group of writers. We intend these Director/Dramatist Exchanges to be an incubator for collaborative work in the creation of new plays and musicals. Past Exchanges have resulted in many lasting professional relationships crucial to a successful career in the theater including readings, productions and, in one case, the formation of a theatre company.

These Exchanges occur every spring and fall at Steppenwolf Theatre and the Goodman Theatre respectively, and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
